Tradition

Written records attest to the fact that this region was rich in vineyards and wineries as early as the 13th century, when the crusaders – Knights Templar established a fortress above Vetovo, whose ruins still remain, called VETERI CASTRA, which kept treasures in its cellars – i.e. wine. The Jakobović family has been producing wine for 100 years, which is testified by old barrels we still keep.

Today

The family of Branko Jakobović from Vetovo creates top-quality wines in its winery, while constantly broadening the assortment of both the wine offer and extra services. Our wines have been wining prestigious awards and accolades year after year and this is a testimony to our continuous investments into the quality and technology, while respecting the heritage and tradition.

Our Timeline

First vineyard

Great-grandfather Pavo Jakobovic planted his first vineyard in the Vetovo locality in 1921.
As a pioneer of more serious viticulture, he was also involved in the production of high quality wines.

1921

Second generation

The grandfather Stjepan Jakobovic continued his business with the extension of the plantation, who also made wine with the grapes.

1956

New plantings

His son Branko is planting new vineyards in the locations where our vineyards are today. The expansion of the plantations and the increase in the number of varieties were in 1990, 1994, 1997, 2002, 2012, 2016, 2020.

1988

Registration

We registered the production of grapes and wines in 1996, and the first solutions for wines with geographical origin were obtained in 1995, and this is where the professional wine-making begins.

Today

We currently produce 14 premium and high quality wines with ZOI.
